While waiting in line for my new iPhone 5, I met with a retired marketing executive who used to work for Apple and was on the board of my children’s school. After we got our phones, he invited me to join him for a test drive of the Tesla Model S. The car is truly amazing: great performance, low operating costs (10x less per mile than my Audi TT), and fantastic finish. But what impressed me the most is the all-electronic dashboard. Think simplify for a car. I love it!

I’ve decided to simplify my wallet in anticipation of the iPhone 5. Because the phone’s design is so nice, I don’t want to wrap it into a case anymore. I used to have one of those cases where you can put a couple of credit cards on the back, but my driver license would not fit. Instead, I’ll keep the phone as is, and I’ll store cards (and keys) into a Bellroy Very Small Wallet.
